WESTBURY, NY―On Saturday June 10th, 2023, the Westbury Boys U10 Dragons played there second to last league game against Smithtown Kickers. In a thrilling match the Westbury U10 Dragons were trailing the match 3-2 with four minutes to spare. The U10 Dragons showed determination and grit by not giving up and scoring two quick goals to win the match 4-3. With this win, the U10 Dragons are mathematically the champions of the Long Island Junior Soccer League Premier Division (Most Competitive Division in Long Island). On Friday June 16th at 7pm the Westbury Boys U10 Dragons will play their final match of the season at the Westbury High School vs Village of the Branch Pythons; where they will be crowned champions of the Spring 2023 season.
Our Westbury Girls U10 Dragons have continued their undefeated season with a win last weekend. The Girl Dragons will be playing there final two games of the season this weekend. They are looking forward to finishing their perfect season at Home (Westbury High School) with a win against Manhasset on June 18th at 4pm to be crowned the Champions of Long Island.
This past weekend was also the Finals of the Long Island Cup at the Half Hollow Hills Soccer Complex. The Long Island Cup is the largest single-elimination youth soccer tournament in North America, the competition is held in concurrence with the LIJSL Spring Season, running from March to June. With nearly 1,300 teams of all ages participating in the Cup. On Sunday June 11th The Westbury Dragons U10 Boys played the final for the U10 Platinum Bracket against Bethpage. The U10 Boy Dragons had an incredible game filled with lots of goals and won 4-0 to be crowned the Long Island Cup Champions.
