Jorey Garcia’s soccer career began in his hometown of Great Neck where he was taught how to play soccer by, Jose Luis Garcia, his father who was a Professional Soccer Player.

Jose Luis Garcia, played professionally in El Salvador for C.D. Marte de Soyapango and received in invitation by the El Salvador National Team to accompany them to the World Cup.

Jorey started his youth soccer career playing for his local Great Neck Team. He then moved on to play for Albertson S.C. where he played on their developmental academy, playing against MLS youth teams.

Jorey played three years of varsity soccer at Great Neck South starting with his freshman year. During his Sophomore Year he led Conference A1 in scoring (13 goals, five assists) and was an All-county selection in 2014.

During his junior year Jorey played on Albertson’s academy team which didn’t allow him to participate in Varsity sports. In 2016, Jorey returned to the Great Neck South Varsity team his senior year… Jorey finished his varsity career with 40 goals, the most in Great Neck South High School history.

Was named the 2016 Conference A1 Player of the Year. Also earned all-county, Newsday All-Long Island, all-state and all-region honors. A1 conference and the Nassau County League’s leading scorer (17 goals, four assists).

Jorey Garcia committed to Old Westbury University for his freshman year of college where he was named 2017 Skyline Conference Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Was selected to the 2017 All-Skyline Conference First-Team. Received, Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week three times in the 2017 season (10/31/17, 10/23/17, 10/9/17).

Academically received, spring 2018 Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll, Fall 2017 Skyline Conference Academic Honor Roll, Fall 2017 Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll.
